Aloha,
I really wish I could have made it to The Molly Surf Celebration. I just recently heard Molly's story, I am very sorry for your loss. I was actually just out surfing today and for some reason I just started thinking about Molly and family. I hope you all are doing well.

Was at cinammon rainbows while my 14 year old son surfed at Hampton. I stopped in to get a Molly bracelet, and my 8 year old daughter wanted one too. It didn't fit on her tiny wrist, so she put it on her ankle instead. She's rockin the molly anklet!

Brian - thank you for putting into words how I feel about Molly whom I never met either. I remember reading the updates during her fight believing love would win. Then reading about her death, shedding tears for people I never physically met, but felt somehow on a spiritual level did. I think of the Rowlee's everytime I hear Miley Cyrus on the radio singing "The Climb." It brings me to tears everytime now that I always think of Molly and her family. I think of how the car radio can bring us to a place we need to pull over and sob remembering our loved ones. Sometimes especially when it appears the song was sent when most needed ... a sign they are watching over us. When I lost my husband to cancer years ago, I remember how my friends felt so helpless too ... but they were not. Just being there is what carries those grieving so deeply through it. I have young children now and hold them tighter with Molly on my mind. Love and friendship carries us through the darkest days and in the end, we are all better for having loved and lost. You have captured the most amazing photos that embrace Molly's spirit ... you have given so much to Buck, Meg and Kiernan through your friendship, words and photographs. Sometimes the best of friends cannot be there during the most difficult times and somehow it opens the door for new people to step in ... you are one of them for the Rowlee's for sure. :)

I wish I had known about the paddle out before! I've only been surfing for a couple years now and have so far missed out on what I can already tell is an amazing community in and around Hampton. After speeding to the beach and hitting the wall after work on monday, I finally realized what was going on. Sad to have missed such a strong showing of support, but I'll be picking up a molly sticker to slap on the board next time I make the trip.

Stay strong!

I stole your quote for my FB page ... it is perfect and sums mourning up so well. I could feel your sadness in your words. It's the most difficult when you remember a year ago Molly was alive and hope was in the air. Hang in there ... you are changing so many lives because of Molly's life.
